Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data AxoPrep collects when you use axoprep.com, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions can be sent to hello@axoprep.com.

What we collect

Your account. Guides can be read without an account, but the practice tests need one. When you create an account we receive your email address, and if you sign in with Google, the name and profile photo on your Google account. We also record whether you chose to receive marketing email, and when.

Your practice tests. Your answers, timings and scores, linked to your account, so you can review attempts and track your progress.

Writing you submit for feedback. Essays and responses you enter in the IELTS and TOEFL writing practice, so that they can be scored.

The eligibility check and consultation forms. If you ask for a university shortlist or for advice, the details you enter: your name, email address, intended destination, study level and the subject you want to study, and optionally your phone or WhatsApp number, nationality, exam and score, budget range and a message.

Usage data. Pages visited, the approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site, collected through Google Analytics.

How we use it

To run your account and your practice tests, to score submitted writing, to reply to eligibility checks and consultation requests, to send the emails your account needs (such as a welcome message and password resets), and to understand which parts of the site are useful so we can improve them.

We send marketing email only if you ticked the box to receive it when you created your account, and every such email lets you unsubscribe.

Partner universities and advisers

AxoPrep works with universities and admissions advisers. We share your details with them only in two situations: when you submit the eligibility check or the consultation form and agree to be contacted about studying abroad, or when you ticked the box allowing partners to contact you. We share only what is needed for them to respond to you. We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers

These companies process data on our behalf, only to provide their part of the service:

• Google Firebase and Google Cloud, for accounts and stored data
• Vercel, which hosts the website
• Brevo, which sends our emails
• Anthropic, whose AI model scores submitted writing
• Cloudflare, which stores the audio files for listening tests
• Google Analytics, for usage statistics

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. Signing in keeps you logged in using browser storage. We do not use advertising cookies. Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and set cookies only once you play them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How long we keep it

Account data and practice results are kept for as long as your account exists. Consultation requests are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up. You can ask us to delete any of it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw marketing consent, or object to how we use it. Email hello@axoprep.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or the UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

AxoPrep is intended for students preparing for university admission. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before creating an account.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and its effective date.
