Rules
- · A four-function calculator is allowed, as on the real exam. This site has no built-in calculator, so have your own ready
- · Graphs are given as tables and line charts, or the curves and shifts are described in the question
- · Four sets of three questions share one table or scenario; all data are hypothetical, written for this test
- · +1 correct · 0 skipped · 0 wrong
- · Move freely between questions within a section
What you get afterwards
The number of questions you got right, the percentage, a breakdown by section and a full review. Each explanation gives the reasoning and then names the most tempting wrong answer and says why it fails. There is no AP score of 1 to 5: free response is not included and the College Board publishes no cut scores for its forms.
Before you start
Set aside 70 minutes without interruption. If you close the tab, the session is kept and you can return to it at the same address, but the clock keeps running, as it would in the exam room.
Frequently asked questions
Is the AP Microeconomics exam digital?
It is a hybrid exam. The multiple-choice section is taken in the Bluebook app and the free-response answers, including the graphs, are drawn and written by hand in a paper booklet. This practice test simulates the multiple-choice section only.
Can I use a calculator on AP Microeconomics?
Yes. A four-function calculator is allowed on both sections. No formula sheet is supplied, so you need to know the formulas yourself, such as price elasticity by the midpoint method, average and marginal cost, profit and marginal revenue product.
Which units does AP Microeconomics multiple choice cover?
Six units. Production, Cost, and the Perfect Competition Model is the largest (22-25%), then Supply and Demand (20-25%), Imperfect Competition (15-22%), Basic Economic Concepts (12-15%), Factor Markets (10-13%) and Market Failure and the Role of Government (8-13%). This practice test follows those weights: 14, 13, 11, 8, 7 and 7 questions.
How are graphs tested without drawing them?
Many multiple-choice questions ask what happens to a curve, a price or a quantity when something changes: supply and demand, cost curves, a monopolist's marginal revenue, a labor market or a market with an externality. Here graphs are given as tables or line charts, or the curves and shifts are described in words.
How many multiple-choice questions are on the AP Microeconomics exam?
The multiple-choice section has 60 questions in 70 minutes and counts for 66% of the exam score.
Does this practice test give me an AP score?
No. It reports how many questions you got right and the percentage. The AP score of 1 to 5 also depends on the free-response section, which is not included, and the College Board does not publish the cut scores for each form.
Is there a penalty for wrong answers?
No. AP multiple choice is scored on correct answers only, so answer every question.
Is AxoPrep official?
