What this practice test gives you

Every question is original and written to the published course framework, with four choices and one defensible answer. After you submit you see how many you got right, the percentage, and an explanation for every question that names the most tempting wrong answer. You do not get an AP score: the free-response section is not included and the College Board publishes no cut scores for its forms. Format and units.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AP Human Geography exam digital?

Yes. The whole exam, multiple choice and free response, is taken in the Bluebook app. This practice test simulates the multiple-choice section only.

Which units does AP Human Geography multiple choice cover?

Seven units: Thinking Geographically (8-10%) and six units at 12-17% each, on population and migration, culture, political geography, agriculture, cities, and industrial and economic development. This practice test gives Unit 1 six questions and every other unit nine.

Are there maps in this practice test?

No. About a third of the real questions use a stimulus such as a map, table, graph or image. Here every stimulus is a data table or a short text about a made-up place, so no question depends on a picture.

How many multiple-choice questions are on the AP Human Geography exam?

The multiple-choice section has 60 questions in 60 minutes and counts for 50% of the exam score.

Does this practice test give me an AP score?

No. It reports how many questions you got right and the percentage. The AP score of 1 to 5 also depends on the free-response section, which is not included, and the College Board does not publish the cut scores for each form.

Is there a penalty for wrong answers?

No. AP multiple choice is scored on correct answers only, so answer every question.

Is AxoPrep official?

No. AxoPrep is not affiliated with the College Board. AP is a trademark of the College Board. Every question here is original.
