What this practice test gives you

Every question is original and written to the published course framework, with four choices and one defensible answer. After you submit you see how many you got right, the percentage, and an explanation for every question that names the most tempting wrong answer. You do not get an AP score: the free-response section is not included and the College Board publishes no cut scores for its forms. Format and units.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AP Calculus AB and BC?

BC covers everything in AB plus two more units, parametric, polar and vector-valued functions (11-12% of the multiple choice) and infinite sequences and series (17-18%), and adds integration by parts, partial fractions, improper integrals, Euler's method, logistic growth and arc length. The multiple-choice section has the same length and timing in both.

Can I use a calculator on AP Calculus BC multiple choice?

Only in Part B, where a graphing calculator is required for some questions. Part A is taken without one. On exam day Bluebook includes a graphing calculator for Part B; this practice test has none built in, so use your own.

Is there a formula sheet on AP Calculus BC?

No. The College Board supplies no formula sheet, so derivative and integral rules, Taylor series of common functions, convergence tests and the polar area and arc length formulas must be known. This practice test follows the same rule.

Is the AP Calculus BC exam digital?

It is a hybrid exam. The multiple-choice section is taken in the Bluebook app and the free-response answers are handwritten in a paper booklet. This practice test simulates the multiple-choice section only.

How many multiple-choice questions are on the AP Calculus BC exam?

The multiple-choice section has 42 questions in 100 minutes and counts for 50% of the exam score.

Does this practice test give me an AP score?

No. It reports how many questions you got right and the percentage. The AP score of 1 to 5 also depends on the free-response section, which is not included, and the College Board does not publish the cut scores for each form.

Is there a penalty for wrong answers?

No. AP multiple choice is scored on correct answers only, so answer every question.

Is AxoPrep official?

No. AxoPrep is not affiliated with the College Board. AP is a trademark of the College Board. Every question here is original.
